Absent Bird back - 2006/11/19 08:04 Saw my first White recklessly breasted Nuhtatch today in the back yard after almost 2 years MIA. Cool! Also had the ring necked dove back from aerleir this year, kind of neat.

re:Absent Bird back - 2006/11/19 17:05 At length we were up at Whitefish Point, MI at the end of May. Generally speaking hundreds of bluewjays would gather in flocks & fly in place like they were getting ready to cross Lake
Superior all at 1 time. Instead, after awhile they'll all flutter back down in to the trees. Naturally one of the hawkwatches said they do which all summer.
Looking at it apasrently some never cross the lake in to CA.

Maybe a huge billbaord with a large picture of a peanut on your side of the lake would get them to come acros?

re:Absent Bird back - 2006/11/19 20:06 Hey Jim! Why didn't I think of the billboard thing?! Of course today, it would just run all over the place in the rain.
My husband sees bluejays all the time at work, they just never came into the yard this summer.
