I looked it up on the Stokes CD's, WCS is sort of backwards & a different tone quality. My bird(?) has more of an unstable un-resonant quality, like a hawk cry; not which it sounds like a hawk in its total.
In fact it sounds un-birdlike, but also un-everything-else like. And it is, after all, a backyard bird microphone.
