probably a kingfisher - 2008/08/22 19:29
could anyone please educate me on this? I have no photos because the rascals are way too fast for me to take their photographs - it seems as if they know that I am taking out my camera and "poof" gone they are, but:
a bird, with a beak like a kingfisher, the size and build of a kingfisher, but, with deep blue wings and a spotted brown/white chest...
what could that be? I thought a species of the Kingfisher - but I would really like to be sure...
anyone?

I see now it is a 'common kingfisher' - Thanks to the first link you placed. I -in the meanwhile since the post above- managed to get a photo of him
