My preference would be Sibley, the large one, sense the Rockies divide east & west editions of Sibley. I have seen this on shelves:
Birds of the Rocky Mountains by Chris Fisher, Ted Nordhagen (Illustrator), Gary Ross (Illustrator)
It is probably the only area guide easy to get. I used an Alberta book for the Canadian Rockies, so did not need this one on the trip. Good luck.
