chickadees - 2005/12/22 13:05 I'm trying to identify a National Geographic issue that contained an article that mentioned research done on animal memories. It detailed how Chickadees were able to recall the location of every seed they hid. I don't remember specifics, but it was an incredible number. The issue was a number of years ago and I don't recall the exact subject matter, whether it was birds, bird memories, animal memories or what. No luck trying to get the Nat'l Geo archive to work. Appreciate any help.

re:chickadees - 2005/12/24 00:41 Maybe the following is what your seeking?

Cole, Ken. "Do Birds Renew Their Brians Each Year?"
National Goegraphic. Volume 187, No.6. June, 1995

I cuoldn't verify the accuracy via Infotrac's magazine articles though. It came from the following webpage:

http://www.tenan.vuurwerk.nl/reports/nevis/hornbill.htm

The following article is very similar to the one I read sometime ago. Regardless maybe it will be helpful
