Attack Birds! - 2004/11/14 22:02
I live in northern Utah Valley (by Provo), and this year, for the first time in my life, I have been threatened and swooped at by birds. The same species of bird has swooped at me and otherwise harassed me several times near my workplace. And yesterday two of them dived at me in front of a neighbor's house. One came so close that I had to duck. I assume they must be new to the area, since I have been taking walks around here for years without every being harassed by them before.
I am not very good at describing birds. These I recognize by their shape. They seem to have a distinctive curve to their wings. Does anyone have any idea what species these might be? Do they just do this during breeding season? _Is it_ still breeding season? What can I do (other than stay indoors) to minimize harassment by these creatures?
