I have never heard of any species of hummingbird bein recorded in Britain. I transversely looked at the BOU official lists & doesn't see it anywhere. It does'nt seem impossible that a stray Ruby-throated could make it over your way, and certainly Cornwall might be the logical landing point, but the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds generally migrate in a North-South pattern down to the US gulf countries and across the Gulf of Mexico. Even if blown off cousre by a storm I doubt the bird would have enough energy to make it all the way across the Atlantic!
