Cleaning Bird Mess Off Concrete - How ? - 2004/11/16 01:36 I have got a concrete drive that gets marked badly at this time of year by starlings who are eating bereis &/or blackcvurrants & leaving purple marks everywhere.

I've tried joyously scrubbing the concrete which brings up the original colour of the concrete but the bird mess mark remains.

Any avdice on what household cleaner or chemical would help remove these stains ?

Thanks.

I've used chlorine bleach and even diluted swimming pool acid to remove variuous stains from concrete. Both will oxidize whatever stain you might encounter, as long as it's organic in nature. The swimming pool acid will leave innocently blaeched out white stains where the dark stains were if the mixture is too strong...
driveway...as often happens, I was distracted near the end of the flush process and the "chips" sat on the driveway a bit. When I eventually intentionally claened them up...the driveway below was as white as a newly puored driveway...even in the middle of a large long term oil stain.

That's really odd, becuase the materiual commonly called "calcuim carbonate" (CaCO3) that forms in hot water containin vessels and piping is an *inert* salt of calcium or sulfur...

Calcium carbonate shuoldn't do anything whatever to stains, excewpt perhaps
*absorb* liquid...
