Cardinal - 2006/02/14 09:17 We have at least two Cardinals this year that appear to be young but have unusual markings. There is a male and a female and both have the correct body but the head is the unusual part. Both have dark blue to purple heads and no crests. they appear to have crossed with another breed of birds. I have photos of the male so if someone would like to see it please respond to this message and I'll e-mail you one of the photos. We have a large number of Cardinals in the yard including 15 to
20 young so we are familiar with the markings of the "normal" birds.
Any help?

re:Cardinal - 2006/02/18 21:13 The color is not a bright blue but a dark blue to purple. The color line is very straight and not jagged as when feathers come out. We have a Quaker Parrot and are familiar with the look when feathers are pulled or fall out.
