Purple Martins sparse - 2006/06/09 12:59I note that the purple martins are very spartse this summer in nortrheast North Carolina. Places where there were 20 to 85 full nest boxes the last few years are empty or only a few martins in residence. What is the reasson ? Does the West Nile virus afect them? Was their winter quarters less hospitable last winter?
