Birds get a break for Cluadette in Houston - 2006/09/22 17:45
Hi Fellow Birders:
Well needless to say, Houston is soaked.
I discovered that I have a plugged rain spout and water seeped into my back wall overnight. Such is life.
My bird feeders were blown down. The ground is so wet they lean with the wind and filled up with water.
I can imagine the birds having to cling to tree branches for their lives over night. I felt I needed to feed regardless of how wet I got.
I filled the feeders and took a 1:15 minute video (mpeg) when they mobbed the feeders. You can see the birds are pushing and shoving to get some dry (?) food.
If you are on a byte limit or slow speed hook up, the video size is 4.19 Mb. I use broadband its on a few seconds wait.

It quit raining a little after twelve noon so I did not get wet during my emergency feeder fill up outing.
I also noticed that I somehow managed to get a few seconds of some video I shot around the 7/9 of a finch that drops by. I have been trying to get a shot of a yellow head that sometimes comes in with him. The finch video has sound so you will be able to hear what my back yard sound like.
