Early winter? - 2006/11/16 10:23 Any chance we're in for an early winter?

According to the Weather channel, the reason we've had no major hurricanes so far is the northwesterly winds typical of late fall.

This weekend a friend had a sharpshin visit her doves. Last night I also saw tell tale signs (feathers in the usual spot) that a sharpshin visited our place too. Usually they return around the first of October.

Tell me it's not so .....

re:Early winter? - 2006/11/17 11:59 We are suppose to get some heavy rain from the storm 4 - 8 inches tonight and tomorrow. If it rains that much we will also have flooding from the streams and rivers. Have a great holiday weekend.

Loose soi; - 2006/11/21 19:56 Yes. Officially called aluvial base - cracked bedrock and dirt caused by thousands of years of earthquake fault movement. People build on hillsides for the view. After big rains, the stuff shifts and down they come. :?
