Help me Identify! - 2008/06/09 15:47 A bird flew over our house and landed on my sister-in-law's shoulder after watching us from a tree for some time. It's clear it is someone's pet.

It is green on the top of the head. It's face and chest are grey. It has light green by it's feet. There is a bright blue on its wings. It's maybe 10 inches from top of the head to the tip of its tail.

We're in PA but it's clearly a tropical bird. Any guesses. We're trying to find it's owner since it is very friendly and I'm sure someone is missing it.

Help me Identify! - 2008/06/10 11:19 Estelita welcome to the forum I hope you will like it here.

I really have no idea. Not at all - because there is such a h-u-g-e variety in bird species that I think could answer that description. It's good you are looking for its owner. I bet they are very worried - It's very kind of you to do so

Help me Identify! - 2008/06/10 14:53 We figured it out by doing lots of online searches. It is a Quaker Parrot. It now has a foster parent (my parents whose home it flew to just are not prepared to foster). So we are still looking for the owner. But who knows how far it flew!?

Help me Identify! - 2008/06/11 14:34 We put an ad in the paper, online and have called a number of local vets. But how far do you think they could fly?

Help me Identify! - 2008/06/13 16:03 Well that's a big question... I don't know really.
But you are doing a lot. I hope the owners will still turn up but the longer it takes the less chance there is that they do....
