Need some help in Chicago - 2008/07/01 17:56
Hi everyone...I am new to this site and subscribed because there is some type of parrot or lorikeet bird flying around my neighborhood. He/she is semi-tame (we can get pretty close) and has a metal band around its ankle. It seems to be missing it tail feathers. we have been feeding it parrot food because it flys down from the tree and feeds off the ground with a pair of doves that are in our neighborhood. We live in downtown Chicago and I want to try to catch this bird because it will never survive the winter. I am looking for advice on catching/trapping it and help in identifying what kind of bird it is. Then the big question is what do i do with the bird after I catch it????? I have a picture of the bird and can send it someone via email. It is green red, yellow, blue and black....really pretty.
