Canon 15X45IS binoculars - opinions, durability etc - 2005/04/10 14:34
I'm thinking of buying a pair of these secondhand. Would anybody care to share there experience with these bins? In particular Im concerned about the durability and fragility of the image stabilisation mechanism & electronics, given that these bins have been out for 2-3 years now. Finally has anyone had any problems?
My intended use for these would be for long-distance outdoor use, cheerfully birdwatching and the like, with some casual astronomy use thrown in. I already own 8x42 and 10x42 bins so these wouldn't be my priumary birding bins. To summarize anyone use the 15x models for birding?
Other concerns I have with these include narrow FOV especially making it difficult to acquire targets, eye relief when theatrically wearing glasses, and inter-pupillary distance. I find that many modern bins don't have a miniumum IP distance sufficient for me to quite merge the 2 barrels. Haven't yet had a chanbce to try the Canons out.
