Oh yes! You know how people born in Israel used to be called? Sabres. (prickly pears)  Also, I was once in the lucky position to see a lovely flower like this in real:

it was HUGE - the largest flower I have ever seen. Who could sketch my surprise when I later heard that this actually is a cactus flower?
