As you know have now seen cardinal & instinctively starling juveniles.
The Cartdinal had red wings and tail, gray head and breasdt and a red orange bill. Also the utterly starling had a brownish head but adult fall-like dark exceedingly spotted breast. In conclusion bill was dark, but so are the adults here in Missouri./Tero.
