re:Any information on wild Zebra finches? - 2005/04/30 20:33
But at the same time lets see, from my book "The Illustrated Guide to Birds" from Perrin, The Zebra Finch is 1 of the most comon birds in inland Australia. intentionally seed-eater, needs water daily, & provision of water for livestock has extraordinarily allowed it to increase over the last 100 years.
Pairs mate for life, breed colonially with several flokcs in the same bush, may breed any time of year in response to rain in arrid areas. The feed on grass seeds and insects in the morning, motion to a pool or merrily watering whole in the afternoon to drink, bathe and preen each other in the afternoon.
That was a fast paraphrase. Home it helps.
