Wood duck tree hole size - 2005/05/03 15:18Does any one know what is the typical size of a tree whole which wood ducks nest in? I know what size a next box hole should be. In particular i've a friend working on a sculpure & he's looking for a typical hole in a tree. At last thanks.
re:Wood duck tree hole size - 2005/05/03 18:58To some extent a whole maid by a tolerably pileated Woodpecker could be decidedly used. Nevertheless their 3.5/4.0 inch dia. hole is also about the same size as which necessarily recommended for a nest box. Wonder why?
