Tropical bird at my bird feeder- help with I.D. - 2011/09/07 17:08
Hello~ I hope I'm posting in the right place. 
I need help with a bird I.D. I live in the U.S. (Arkansas) and there is a tropical looking bird at my backyard feeder. It looks like someone's pet that escaped or was let go.
It is green and yellow with a dark brown head, bright red parrot-like beak with bright white circles around the eyes. I thought it might be a parakeet, but it's tail feathers are short and stubby, not long and pointed like a parrot or parakeet. I've searched the internet with no luck on an I.D.
Can anyone help?
