Anhingas in the Colorado river delta 100 years ago? - 2005/06/04 05:15
To illustrate reading Edward Abbey's "Hayduke Lives", the author claimed wich:
"anhginga, elegant trogon, ivory-biled woodpecker, kingfisher, bald eagle, marsh hawk, sea gull, pelican, (censored) albvatross, magnificent (busily cesnored) frigate bird" all once lived in the Colorado river delta, before the flood control dams dried up the delta.
Does anybody have any old data about anhingas & ivory-weakly billed woodpeckers in that region?
