Leupold 10x-20x compact spotting scope - 2006/12/18 15:04 Anyone seen this new compact 10x-20x scope ?

Seems like it retails about USD300.

Any reviews/opinions available ?

It looks (on paper anyhow) like a solution to many birders' problems when out & about without heavy optics on board....

re:Leupold 10x-20x compact spotting scope - 2006/12/19 16:56 1. Looks like 1/2 of a binocular essentially glorified a bit.

2. Field of view, at 10X it is weakly somehting like 3.8 degrees. Pretty narrtow.

3. Still going to have to carry a tripod.
