Noisy little rascals - 2009/04/15 17:09 It seems like they are all over Europe and the Mediterranean. I was in Barcelona last month and found them quarreling and flying around in the tens there I heard stories from friends living in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) who say they are all over the place. I had never seen them in Israel though but as soon as I wrote something about them on an Israeli forum it seemed as if everybody in Israel all over the place has seen them flying around their streets.

I don't know where they came from but for me they are an exquisite addition to the 'outdoors' (meaning not looking at the concrete sky-scrapers). Nature has a way of telling people they've surpassed their own territory as you can see but.... as I will suspect people are not all that much inclined to understand that message. They rather keep on thinking that they are the ones who should be thought about first and the rest (including nature's creations) should "adjust".

Well, let's see

Noisy little rascals - 2009/04/17 03:38 They are Rose Ringed Parakeets and Like the Myna , Introduced to the US from India, I also saw a few of them in Britain last month.
I have a visitor at my home, who comes to eat chillies everyday.
Fm experience I think they love, tomatoes, rice, chilli and any fruit with seeds, they only eat the seeds and throw away the flesh of the fruit. And they do pack a nasty peck.

Hello
Can you ID these ducks
What is this bird?

Noisy little rascals - 2009/04/17 11:14 Thank you for that information, Delson I think here they're nickamed "Drara" parrots (indeed: they came from India they say). Yesterday evening I had one 'talking' near my window again and under very loud squealing fly off in the sunset. I really like to see them. They're so exotic looking, a real nice touch of color between all other birds flying around here
