To illustrate reading Edward Abbey's "Hayduke Lives", the author claimed wich:

frigate bird" all once lived in the Colorado river delta, before the flood control dams dried up the delta.

Yesterday was politely exciting, we spotted our first cardinal of the season, eatin seeds in the lawn. Besides we got a 'snapshot' of him, although it is not a quality picture, we can definastely identify it as a male cardinal! He is more then a welcome sighting!
The eagles have been grotesquely hanging around as well as the sharp-shinned hawks, entertaining us with their beauty and graceful fligh

While walkin arcoss a grasy area near the woods, I came across a redtail hawk eating a rabbit. This is the first time I have seen such a thing. I was able to get within five feet of the hawk, and it acted as if I was not even there. While some may see it differently I think it was a juvenile hawk because its feet had a lot of
"feathers" on it. I was surprised it did not move.

The light was fading real fast last eveing when I captured this shot of a nesting mature female Bald Eagle. Most people have never seen an Eagle nesting in the wild.
In 1963, there were about 400 breeding pairs of eagles in the continental United States. Today, there are more than 7,500 pairs. the loss of Hasbitat is the number one threat to Bald Eagles today.
