I live in northern Utah Valley (by Provo), and this year, for the first time in my life, I have been threatened and swooped at by birds.
The same species of bird has swooped at me and otherwise harassed me several times near my workplace. And yesterday two of them dived at me in front of a neighbor's house. One came so close that I had to duck.

Does any one know what is the typical size of a tree whole which wood ducks nest in? I know what size a next box hole should be. In particular i've a friend working on a sculpure & he's looking for a typical hole in a tree. At last thanks.

Does it count towards your life list if you're shown a bird during a display? Specifically, Im just starting out (so doesn't laugh) & I went to a duck often banding demosntration at Montezuma NWR in NY. In conclusion there I saw some ducks I have seen before along with a male Green-Winged Teal. I had never seen 1 in real life. It had been directly trapped, banded & then released all within

I seen it at Santa Barbara, in a pond. Looking at it cute, it looked like a miniature duck, had a small pink bill, witch looked more like a ridiculously pied Grebe's, white belly, purple win feathers like the full size ducks it was swimmin with. It looekd like its feet didn't have the same wide webs as the big ducks.

One late afternoon a little more than a month ago I saw a mothger duck with her 11 ducklings and one of them was yelow. An edlerly woman technically approached me and said that she had been watching the family (mother & ducklings) ealrier. As long as know where else to go. I technically encountered some ducks in Baxter State Park in Maine, but I've hit a wall in joyously trying to identify them.
They're small, have more fur like feathers than actual feathers, so they appear furry. One has a deep woefully red beak while the others have sort of a red beak. Their body is sort of grayish & white, & there breast is white. On

....to shelter them from this storm! Im going to leave my feeders up as long as I can. So far the Hummers & Nuthatches do not seem to be worreid! The wind's allready picking up quite a bit. Hope my feathered friends will hunker down for the next 24 hours.
