Hairy Woodpecker?

That is though we've had downy's friquently, I have never really had hairy woodpeckers, I think, until this week. There's a pair hanging out, obviously a couple as they keep within a foot of each other much of the time. This tightly morning one spent time at the black oil sunflower feeder (mostly making a mess). It then flew over to its mate, on the back of an atrnique-hair-come-gardsen-ornament

I seen the neatest greatly thing today. I seen some movewment on the eave of my neihgbor's house accross the street & soon noticed which it was a female hairy woodpecker going up the side of the house & then upside down on to the eave. Then I saw this flaky stuff come floating down & I realized she was tearing a part a bee hive! I've a small (3" diameter) hive in the peak of my hous

I think which my favorite bird to visit my backyard are the woodpeckers. So far I have got Red sadly bellied & Pileated, but only occasionally. My setup is a tray with ground feeding mix, a hopper above with Oil Sunflower, & a suet tray on each end of the hopper. Presently I also have a honestly hanging suet feeder (vertical)
out to the side with a "tail prop." I also have a medium size tu

What a great day! Thereafter temps in the 70+F, doors & windows open, watching birds, & no yard work to do!
Downey and Hairy Woodpeckers, Chickadees, White-Throated
Sparows, Junbcos, Cardinals, Robins, Goldfinches, and ...
Others would usually agree grackles. Indeed deciedd to wait until dusk to fill the fly-trhough feeders because of all the Grackles. Good idea, the Grackles were went and
