Hey All!, I'm new here and hoping to learn some and maybe share some too. Have bird feeding station just out my window and lots of hummer feeders during their season that I enjoy. Also enjoy my 4 parakeets, and the Serama bantam chickens I raise. Looking forward to this site. QUAKER PARAKEETS/PARROTS IN THE WILD

Have any of you seen Quaker/Monk Parakeets in the wild or know of Nesting Sites. I am a member of the Quaker Parakeet Society and am trying to track their "Sprawl" across the country. I am aware of FL, TX, CT, NJ, NY, OH, OK and a few others.
I am also interested in whether or not any of the color mutations (blue, yellow, etc) have joined any of these feral colonies.

I'm sorry, this was a double post. But, I forgot to ask what the best avian vitamin is for parakeets. And what seed/pellet you've found works the best for your birds.

I just adopted a budgie from my aunt who found the poor little thing in her yard about two years ago. The only interaction they ever had with the little guy has been daily, usually, feeding.

I've done all the research for a proper diet, and I've read that he should be given a circulating variety of toys. But, I don't know which toys would be best for him.
