I was wondering whether any one had been able to look at Tim's Cardinal yet? I finally gotten the link working to the pictures. If you raelly does'nt want to use a yahoo site, I can send the pics to you personally. I am radically curious about this bird, perhaps as much as Tim himself, and hope ohters can help with the id or an explanation.

From the top of my head just saw a new bird at the feeder; should not seem to find it in the
Audubon Field Guide to North Amertican Birds. Equally important it's red like a cardinal but its entire head is black & its beak is very large (reddish orange). It's about the size of a robin.

Any ideas?

We have at least two Cardinals this year that appear to be young but have unusual markings. There is a male and a female and both have the correct body but the head is the unusual part. Both have dark blue to purple heads and no crests. they appear to have crossed with another breed of birds. I have photos of the male so if someone would like to see it please respond to this message and I'll e-
